Building a better development experience
MayWeb was born from a developer's frustration with existing tools. We're on a mission to create the ultimate local development environment that empowers developers to focus on what matters most - building amazing applications.
Why we built MayWeb and the problems we're solving
The inspiration for MayWeb started from a personal need: a clutter-free, efficient local server manager that didn't feel like outdated software. As a developer, I was tired of Laragon's limited customizability and XAMPP's bloated setup.
After countless hours wrestling with configuration files, dealing with service conflicts, and struggling with outdated interfaces, I realized there had to be a better way. The existing tools felt like they were stuck in the early 2000s, while development practices had evolved dramatically.
I decided to build something from scratch—an elegant development assistant that not only runs services but makes them feel integrated, intelligent, and truly yours. MayWeb is the culmination of that vision.
The name "MayWeb" combines two meaningful elements:
The bull icon? That's the Taurus symbol (♉), chosen for its representation of strength, reliability, and bold execution - qualities we've built into every aspect of MayWeb.
The principles that guide everything we build
Your tools should get out of your way and let you build. MayWeb is designed to eliminate friction in your development process.
Every feature is designed with the developer experience in mind. We prioritize intuitive interfaces that enhance productivity.
We obsess over performance to ensure MayWeb runs smoothly even with multiple services active, keeping resource usage minimal.
MayWeb is designed to get out of your way and let you build:
No more bloated panels, laggy interfaces, or mysterious service errors. MayWeb brings sanity back to your development environment.
The developer behind MayWeb
Hi, I'm Hosted25, the creator and lead developer of MayWeb. I'm a full-stack developer with over 8 years of experience building web applications for clients around the world.
My journey with MayWeb began out of personal frustration. Like many developers, I spent countless hours wrestling with local development environments that felt outdated, bloated, and unnecessarily complex.
I created MayWeb to solve these pain points - to build the development environment I always wished existed. My goal was to create something that was powerful yet simple, feature-rich yet intuitive, and above all - a joy to use every day.
When I'm not coding, you'll find me contributing to open source projects, mentoring junior developers, or exploring new web technologies.
